Breathing Cycles, Heart Rate, and Sleep Quality in Young Adults

Sleep problems are a growing global concern, affecting approximately one-third of individuals who live an average lifespan, with 30–35% experiencing inadequate sleep. These issues can be categorized into abnormal sleep quantity and quality, influenced by factors like stress, age, physical illness, and mental disorders. Critically, sleep problems are associated with increased risks of depression, mental health problems, cardiovascular diseases, cardiometabolic diseases, and dementia. Given these adverse effects, there is an urgent need to develop therapeutic programs that promote sleep quality.
